Looking for four-legged part-time employee - How do you do? How should I start? I have been running a slightly different riding school since 2007. The focus here is not on riding but on the horse as a partner. Anyone who wants to learn how to handle and ride a horse with me gets the full program from grooming to ground work to riding. No one here has any competition ambitions, maybe a relaxed course here and there. I have to say that the riding school didn't come about because I wanted to earn money (so that the horses would pay for themselves), but because I wanted to give older horses a place and a task. This concept seems to be working well, as the four-legged residents here are often older than expected and are still fit, or recover better than expected. I was/is aware that you can't earn money working with horses in the correct way. I myself acquired the certificate of competence according to §11 of the Animal Welfare Act a few years ago and am a behavioural therapist specializing in horses.
What is a school horse's life like with me?
* Fixed riding students (riding participation principle) * Usually only 1-2 riding lessons per day * Lessons are organized according to the daily form of the horse * Special needs can be taken into account, such as feeding hay cobs, watering or steaming hay * Pasture at night in summer, outdoor box during the day * Paddock with hay during the day in winter, outside box at night * Living position
What we are looking for:
* Preferably gelding but not mandatory * Not older than 20 years * A height of 130 to 140 cm +/- 5 cm * Zippers may be present. But should be addressed. * No top performance is expected. * Compatibility with the herd, there is the possibility of a separation of the sexes
